TEXTILE TRADITIONS AND DESIGN INNOVATION
Charlotte Bodil developed the Seal Bell pendant lamp using her expertise in leather moulding and her knowledge of traditional craftsmanship, with its deep respect for quality and professionalism. She honed her leather moulding and upholstery skills in an internship at the Fritz Hansen furniture design house, where the concept of the Seal Bell was born. The idea was developed through close collaboration and consultation with hatmakers, upholsterers and furriers.
SUPPORTING AND COLLABORATING WITH LOCAL CRAFTSPEOPLE
The Seal Bell pendant lamp is handmade at the CB Studio workshop in Copenhagen in collaboration with local craftspeople and material suppliers, whose skills and knowledge are essential to every step of the production process. The support of local craftspeople and suppliers is crucial in maintaining the quality standards of the product, and assists in the preservation of cultural knowledge and craftsmanship skills acquired over generations.
